WebWell, if you want to stretch things a bit, this is a good place to pull out the "DA2 is a story Varric is telling" excuse. It doesn't make a whole hell of a lot of sense for mage!Hawke to cast spells through about 90% of the first two chapters. She's supposed to be in hiding, concealing herself from the Templars and preventing capture or death. WebHawke is a Mage if that helps any. I've tried using console commands to jump to Act III but that created an entirely new problem - half of your companions became unselectable (to fill slots in your party). I even tried using the console to kill the Arishok but get the same result (and becomes unkillable by the console after gets up).
