However, the best Pen y Fan hike is a full day hike that incorporates several of the surrounding peaks and is known as the Beacons horseshoe ridge walk. WebBy Car: The start of the Pen Y Fan horseshoe is to the south of the Lower Neuadd Reservoir (grid ref. SO033180). The most convenient place to park is at Neuadd Car Park (address: Talybont-on-Usk, Merthyr Tydfil CF48 2UT). We parked here for free all day.
